Your Source for Chronic Pain Resources and Information.

Chronic pain is one of the most difficult and frustrating medical problems there is; just ask any of the millions of Americans who struggle with daily discomfort, fatigue, anxiety, and depression.

My goal is to provide down-to-earth, practical information you can use to evaluate your current care, and hopefully to help you come up with additional alternatives for addressing your unique situation.

Whether you have had a back or neck injury, or have arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraines, cancer, or diabetic neuropathy, you know that there are no single solutions or easy answers to the problem of chronic pain.

Instead, there are a lot of often conflicting options and a confusing array of alternatives to choose from.

This site has only one purpose; to bring you the most current information on pain and its treatment in a way you can understand and use. Too many sites dealing with this topic are just a series of links to articles written in medical jargon, or worse yet, advertisements for drug companies or some unrealistic "cure-all" product.

In my 25 years as a clinical psychologist I have worked with hundreds of people suffering from chronic pain and all the problems that go along with it. This site reflects my unique perspective as a professional who helps clients address their discomfort through cognitive behavioral therapy, diet and exercise, hypnosis, deep breathing, acupuncture and a wide variety of alternative and holistic approaches in addition to more traditional medical treatment.

I hope you find the site easy to get around, and easy to read. You will see links to the left and below that give information on many common diagnoses that have associated pain, as well as links describing medical and alternative management tools, and common complications of chronic pain.

This site will be updated regularly, because I continuously sort through current research and news, and provide summaries in plain English that will help you walk away with information you can use in your day-to-day life. While there is no "one size fits all" with chronic pain, you will find plenty of tips and suggestions for managing your particular type of symptoms.

Good luck and I wish you the best as we work together to improve your quality of life!
